Grand Budapest Hotel was inspired by The Post Office Girl

Wes Anderson admits to having ‘stolen elements’ from The Post Office Girl by Stefan Zweig for the creation of his star-studded, The Grand Budapest Hotel. Certainly the glamourous extravagance of his 1930s Alpine hotel owes much to the grand Palace Hotel featured so evocatively in his posthumous novel.
