Simon Lewis, whose thriller, Bad Traffic, had been published in five languages, has a new tautly plotted, superbly paced thriller out in February 2026. Titled No Exit it once again features Inspector Jian and his daughter Wewei, this time stuck in London as illegal immigrants, trying to scrape a living hustling Mah Jong for cash. The future already looks bleak for Jian, who is facing corruption charges back in China, but it grows bleaker still when a triad gang blackmail him into tracking down an unlikely robber.
